Collinsville, Ill. – Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis recently promoted Christina Penberthy of Granite City, Ill., to CNA Supervisor. Area Administrator Gay Little made the announcement.
Penberthy has been employed with Unity Hospice for two years where she previously served as certified nursing assistant (CNA). A CNA’s responsibility in hospice is to provide terminally ill patients comfort care, which includes assisting in various personal care issues, monitoring a patient’s nutritional needs and offering support for physical needs such as transferring from one space to another. Additionally, a CNA is very instrumental in meeting a patient’s activities of daily living.
In her new role, Penberthy will oversee CNA scheduling, supply & inventory, quality assurance and delegation & mentoring of all hospice aides.
Penberthy received her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Lewis and Clark – Godfrey, Ill. She is a current resident of Granite City, Ill.
