Rochelle, Ill. – Unity Hospice of Western Illinois, located in Rochelle, Ill., announced this week that it has received a deficiency-free rating on its regulatory survey conducted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
A deficiency-free survey from CMS is acquired by providing excellent patient care, establishing exceptional daily operations and providing proficient clinical and administrative documentation.
CMS program audits are designed to evaluate all Medicare Advantage Organization’s (MAO) internal compliance operations. CMS Audits have served as an effective tool for the agency to identify issues that impact beneficiaries. Attaining a deficiency-free audit, as Unity Hospice has, stems from ongoing audit preparedness and internal compliance monitoring at all times.
CMS is required by federal regulation to conduct program audits every three years.
“We are very pleased to have achieved a zero deficiency audit by Medicare,” stated Administrator Carla Humphreys. “It proves that we are highly invested in the way we deliver our patient care, and we remain committed to providing the best service in the region.”
