Rochelle, Ill. – Unity Hospice of Western Illinois proudly names Jeni Hardin as the 2016 recipient of the Employee of the Year Award.
Hardin serves as volunteer coordinator at Unity Hospice of Western Illinois, located in Rochelle at 1201 S. 7th Street. In the two years she has been employed with Unity Hospice, she has demonstrated commitment to excellence in upholding the office’s volunteer program.
“Jeni is an extremely valued member of our team. She has grown from being a volunteer coordinator to now serving as a mentor and educator for her colleagues,” states Unity Hospice of Western Illinois Administrator Deb Rolf. “It is a pleasure to recognize Jeni as this year’s employee of the year at Unity Hospice of Western Illinois.”
In her role as volunteer coordinator, Hardin is responsible for meeting the requirements for the hospice volunteer program as implemented by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Volunteers are a part of a highly coordinated care team that is designed to provide terminally ill patients and their families with social and emotional support. They are specially trained to provide complimentary programs including personalized music, animal-assisted therapy and veteran services.
Hardin’s past service in the United States Army influences her passion for Unity Hospice’s veteran program. She has led the way in honoring our veterans, both in the community and for hospice patients.
Additionally, Hardin engages in community outreach events such as health & senior fairs. She also works alongside the company’s marketing team, assisting them in their business efforts.
Hardin is a current resident of Creston, Ill. She is a mother of two sons and has been married to her husband for 15 years, with whom she owns a local DJ business.
