Unity Hospice Thanks Donors, Volunteers for Successful Blood Drive

Merrillville, Ind. — Unity Hospice of Northwest Indiana, with the Red Cross Northwest Indiana Chapter, held a local blood drive on May 25 complete with the Red Cross Blood Mobile. Unity Hospice would like to thank everyone who helped make the blood drive a success.

Thank you, especially, to our donors. Sixteen pints of lifesaving blood were collected at this drive. One pint of blood can help save up to three lives. Thank you for taking the time to donate and make a difference in your community.

Thank you to the volunteers, Red Cross representatives and Unity Hospice staff that made this blood drive transpire in an organized fashion. We could not have done it without support from those willing to promote and put on the drive.

Last, but certainly not least, Unity Hospice would like to extend our appreciation to the local businesses that provided giveaways that were raffled off throughout the drive. Thank you to Catina’s Tranquil Garden Spa in Crown Point, Chic-Fil-A in Hobart, Culver’s in Crown Point, Dairy Queen in Merrillville, Cedar Lake Lighthouse Restaurant, Mary Kay Representative Jackie Davis Johnson, Red Robin in Merrillville, Rosati’s Pizza in Crown Point, Sola Salon Studios in Crown Point, and Thirty One Gifts Representative Bethany Martin.

Healthy individuals are needed every day to maintain an adequate blood supply for patients in need. Blood is a perishable product that can only come from generous volunteers. By donating blood, individuals can make a difference in the lives of patients in their community and throughout the nation.

Donating blood is an easy way to help others and only takes about an hour. To learn more about blood drives in your area, visit the Red Cross website.
