Lee County’s Monthly Grief Group Offers Support to Public

Grief Group, Support Group, Grief, Hospice Support Group

Grief Support Group Facilitator Ken Lawson, Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and Unity Hospice Chaplain & Bereavement Coordinator

Rochelle, Ill. – The Lee County Council on Aging and Unity Hospice of Western Illinois co-facilitate a free monthly grief group at the Post House Community Center in Dixon, Ill. This group is open to the public and welcomes anyone experiencing grief from a recent loss.

Grief is a normal, natural reaction to a loss of any kind – such as a loved one, a pet or a spouse. Many times, someone in mourning may not know where to turn. The grief group in Lee County offers a therapeutic, compassionate and supportive environment for every individual crisis.

  • Monthly grief support groups are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Lee County Council on Aging’s Post House Community Center – 100 W 2nd St, Dixon, IL 61021 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. There is no commitment and walk-ins are welcomed. All support groups take place in a safe, non-judgmental setting.

The grief group is presented by Grief Recovery Specialist/Unity Hospice of Western Illinois Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator Ken Lawson. Lawson received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Pastoral Ministries, Bible and Theology. Ken has been in the pastoral ministry for more than 20 years, offering professional support for many different types of grief.
