Earlier this summer, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCO) held its annual Creative Arts Contest – an awareness campaign that invited hospices across the country to submit entries in the form of photo, blog or poetry, that illustrate how hospice creates meaningful moments for patients and families in their communities.
The theme for 2017 was “Impactful Relationships: The Interactions of Hospice and Palliative Care.”
Unity Hospice is proud to announce the two entries selected by NHPCO as honorable mentions:
- Photo Entry – Unity Hospice of Northwest Indiana patient; veteran, who was formally honored for his service through our Hospice for Heroes program.
- Blog Entry – Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis Chaplain Anne Chida shared the story of her first hospice patient, whom she impacted by a simple act of love.
The video clip below, provided by NHPCO, highlights this year’s winners.
