Grief, Hope, Loss, Death and Dying, Grief Recovery, Grief Support GroupThe Lee County Council on Aging and Unity Hospice of Western Illinois co-facilitate a free monthly grief support group at the Post House Community Center, taking place every 1st Tuesday of the month. This group is open to the public and welcomes anyone experiencing grief from a recent loss.

Grief is a normal, natural reaction to a loss of any kind – such as a loved one, a pet or a spouse. Many times, someone in mourning may not know where to turn. The support group in Lee County offers a therapeutic, compassionate and supportive environment for every individual crisis. All support groups take place in a safe, non-judgmental setting. There is no commitment and walk-ins are welcomed.

The grief support group is presented by Grief Recovery Specialist and Unity Hospice of Western Illinois Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator Ken Lawson. Lawson received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Pastoral Ministries, Bible and Theology. Ken has been in the pastoral ministry for more than 20 years, offering professional support for many different types of grief.
